This issue is really one about the mathematical odds. Taking everyone together, a CAT scan is a bad idea, on average. But any one individual can have a good experience! Unnecessary scans are a bad idea but given that you have the problem anyway, I wouldn't hesitate to continue with scans. You don't say if you are taking diet steps, herbs, nutrients etc. I hope so. At 42 I was diagnosed with kidney cancer , totally blew me away and my urologist found a tumor on my left kidney. My doc removed the tumor with a partial nephrectomy and I have 85 percent of that kidney left. Ok here is my dilemma, if I hadn't had the ct scan I wouldn't be here right now for my two kids during the most important time of their lives. There is some good !! But to be totally deaf to the fact that ct scans are highly dangerous and a lot of radiation would be foolish .. So here I sit , a 4 year survivor of a killer cancer and I am scheduled for another ct scan , which will be my 3 Rd. I am concerned and need to make a decision. Thanks and scared. Jimmy.
