I love what you have to say here. I have never been able to create success as the world defines it, but I have learned to truly love my life. Of course, parts of it are quite challenging, but I've come to accept this as part of the package deal. We evolve both through light and dark. It is a self-discipline to both accept things the way they are without judgment, as well as to work toward change in all the small ways it is possible for us to do so. I like the idea of "whistling while you work", or, as Keith says "Just forget the negatives and smile." Over the years I have created a habit of listening to audio recordings over a casset recorder, walkman or, much later on, an ipod as a way to make housework more fun. Now, doing housework or gardening are my favorite activities because I know that I will be listening to a great novel, or learning valuable self-help information, as I do them. I am currently caring for my father who has end-stage Parkinson's disease, feeding him and changing his diapers. Though the rest of the people in my family stick their nose up at these activities, I cherish the intimacy we share at these times, as well as the feeling that I am doing work of the highest order. Thank you so much for this post. It was greatly appreciated.
