When supplementing with vitamin D3, is it essential to also supplement with vitamin K2 (particularly the menaquinone-7 component)? I read that this particular vitamin will re-route much of the calcium that's in the plasma to bone and this vitamin may be required as a compliment to vit D3 to protect the arteries from any significant calcification of the endothelial linings. Is this an accurate statement and what is the real story about this interplay and whether we should be also taking enough vitamins K1 and K2 when taking significant amounts of D3?

Thanks
