Diet Wise was a breakthrough for me. I had wondered if I had food allergies besides what I already knew (shellfish), and so I gave the elimination diet a try. Longest 5 days of my life, but very revealing. I eliminated everything he said to, plus I also eliminated potatoes because I was suspecting them as a problem. While on the diet, I ate a container of cashews, and the next morning I awoke to a puffed up left eye. Clearly, I was also allergic to cashews. Now those are eliminated! Also, strawberries gave me a rash on my hands, so I didn’t realize I was intolerant of those, too.
After adding back foods one at a time, I look and feel better than ever. I think you can follow Paleo, Atkins, whatever popular diet today and not get the results you want because you are intolerant to foods that most people aren’t. This uncovers what YOU can and can’t tolerate. It’s a good read, good logic behind it. Definitely made me think about some foods I overeat, and I am encouraged to do more food rotating, perhaps consider seasonal foods more.
