In fact, if I were asked to sum up healthy weight control (and feeling good) in just ONE SENTENCE, here’s what I’d write:
Prepare and cook your own food at home.
Do not buy pre-prepared food of any kind. Buy only the meat, the fish, the vegetables, and learn to cook and serve them, like your Momma and Grandma did!
The food industry doesn’t give a damn about your health. They have a totally different agenda: make money. That’s done by selling you as much food as possible and with the maximum profit margin possible.
Translated that means sell you tons of worthless junk, that doesn’t cost as much to manufacture as “real” food does to grow or collect.
But people are not totally stupid (well…er…awkward cough…) No, people can take steps to protect themselves but the food industry achieves its goal by totally lying and obscuring what they are really doing.
They advertise on a vast scale, using words they know will sell, like “heart healthy”, “diet”, “natural” and “organic”, when these terms are nothing more than blatant lies.
There’s one running now, on American TV, which suggests the XYZ breakfast cereal is “heart healthy”, when it’s made of refined carbs garbage, topped with sugar.
In what possible sense can that be heart healthy?
We have the malignant (and I do mean malignant, from malign, meaning intending to kill) campaigns of the margarine industry boasting their product is superior to natural fats, despite ABUNDANT evidence that fats used in margarine are deadly for heart and arteries.
So-called polyunsaturates have been hyped by shill scientists for decades, trying to get people to believe that these are totally safe. In fact polyunsaturates displace essential fatty acids (which are also polyunsaturates and so compete for space), with disastrous consequences.
Beaver’s Bum
Look at what they call “natural”. Did you know, you sometimes eat beaver anal gland oil? (from cuddly beavers, who get their a** hacked off for your delectation) It’s called castoreum and appears in many foods as a “natural flavor”, as well as in commercial perfumes.
What about crushed beetles? You never? Oh yes you did. That’s cochineal or red dye 4, sometimes known as carmine (E120); from boiled and crushed cochineal beetles.
It’s widely used in the food industry to supply a bright red food coloring in ice cream, sweets, drinks and more.
Starbucks is coming under fire from vegans for using ground-up bugs to color its Frappuccinos but most people, frankly, have no idea what they are swallowing. Never mind the calories!
E540 is powdered animal bones. Is that “natural”?
What about shellac (E904)? That’s “natural”; it comes from an insect that lives in Thailand called Kerria lacca, the female of which makes sticky secretions.
The ever-inventive food industry often calls it ‘confectioner’s glaze’ as if it were handmade by a twinkly-eyed candy-creator.
Then there are the plain lies. Have you heard the mathematician joke: there are lies, damned lies…and statistics. If feel we could rule through statistics and put “food industry propaganda”.
For example, “vitamin enriched”. Big food companies are pumping vitamins into everything from chocolate chip waffles to margarine and then trying to sell it on as a healthy option. But what they put in is only a fraction of what they take out! That’s not enrichment; that’s poverty!
Think of it this way: if a guy came up to you in the street and robbed you of $100, then gave you back $5 before walking away, would you consider yourself “enriched”?
What about “only 100 calories”? Sounds good. But don’t be fooled. Those 100 calories will be empty, highly-refined sugar calories that will send your blood glucose levels soaring, then crash you back down into hunger, whilst giving you nothing beneficial at all.
Don’t Get Me Started on Fat Free
Sounds good, right? Don’t get me started on the fact that many of our vital vitamins and nutrients are fat-soluble, so on a low fat diet, we suffer from extreme deficiencies.
Get this instead: since fat gives food a lot of flavor, manufacturers have to do something to make fat-free food taste better.
So they add salt, high fructose corn syrup, modified food starch (GMO origins), free glutamates (MSG, hydrolyzed vegetable protein and natural flavors), diglycerides (sugar) and gums (guar and xanthan).
These often contain more calories and carbs than real foods!
MSG
I mentioned MSG. This is one of the most toxic of all allowed food ingredients. Why is it still being sold? Corruption; phoney consumer protection that secretly works for the food industry, to protect it.
Manufacturers have realized that people don’t want to buy MSG. But they don’t remove it (because it’s highly addictive and they want you hooked on their products), so they disguise it.
They re-label it. You find it under a host of names; Here are just a few:
- Glutamic acid (E 620)
- Glutamate (E 620)
- Monosodium glutamate (E 621)
- Monopotassium glutamate (E 622)
- Calcium glutamate (E 623)
- Monoammonium glutamate (E 624)
- Magnesium glutamate (E 625)
- Natrium glutamate
- Anything “hydrolyzed”
- Any “hydrolyzed protein”
- Calcium caseinate, sodium caseinate
- Yeast extract, Torula yeast
- Yeast food, Yeast nutrient
- Autolyzed yeast
- Vetsin
- Ajinomoto
- Umami
This stuff is so toxic, you would wonder it’s allowed anywhere for human consumption. I wouldn’t give it to a rat! Why not?
Because one study fed rats large amounts of MSG over an extended period of time. The report declared that the amount of adrenaline, dopamine and serotonin that the rats produced went up significantly as their adrenal gland grew in weight. By 60 weeks of age the MSG-fed rats had developed a form of Type II diabetes.1
It’s Worse Than That
Trouble is, MSG have worse effects than just making you addicted. MSG appears to cause weight gain in its own right.
No—I don’t mean you get addicted, you eat too much, you gain weight—I mean, given equal calorie intake, someone swallowing MSG will gain weight, compared to someone who does not. That’s surprising, even for me.
Industry scientists (and their promoters) want it downplayed and “it’s not a big difference” they say. Well, that’s phoney, because MSG foods are just about universal and, unless you are careful to avoid it, you eat MSG every single meal, in some form or other. There is a cumulative effect.
Why MSG and weight gain may be linked isn’t clear but is most probably due to the discovery that people who consumed more MSG produced more leptin. MSG consumption may thus lead to leptin resistance and over eating.

Translate it to Dutch. I have problems with the English language. Besides that I live in Thailand. The “Nutricion facts” are there given -without E-numbers- mostly in the Thai language (and therefore in the Thai alphabet). In Thailand there are now much more fat persons than 10 years ago. And much more people with deabetis II. So I have to be alert on my food.
